Back to school...

Did I mention that I take twenty minutes to walk to my classes everyday?Half an hour also can if I take my time to walk.Goodness, that means that my hostel is actually not that all near to my classes!At this rate, I think even if I eat more than I what usually eat back in Singapore,I may not gain that much weight after all.Maybe all that walking will help me to burn off more fat!Hopefully!=)

School has started already and I haven't got used to the idea that I need to study real soon.Workload here is basically the same as NUS so I'm not sure how am I gonna cope with it and I'm also worried if the pple here study as hard as the pple do back at NUS.Lots of tests,mid-terms and assignments..argh!I am so glad that I managed to save quite alot of money from photocopying my textbooks and buying second-hand texts..if not I have to pay hundreds of dollars for just 3 textbooks man!I'm gonna photocopy another book tmr!yay!what a pirate I am eh?Also,the course packs here are super duper expensive,can sometimes cost more than the textbooks!How is that possible?!Now I really appreciate NUS where textbooks and course packs are so so cheap!Oh yes, I realized that I became super stingy and kiasu after coming UBC.Everything also must look for the cheapest bargains..then when too ex just walk away or start complaining..I was never like that in Singapore!Its a bad thing...I need to change man..

I've basically settled in all.I'm more familiar with the different buildings in campus and more used to the food. The people here eat salads all the time and it's the only veggie available everywhere!I've never liked salads so I'm damn happy that I found a canteen that sells cooked broccoli(is that how u spell it?) so now I don't have to worry about not eating vegetables while over here. I even bought a comforter and Mabel gave me an extra pillow to use as bolster!Now,not only can I keep out the cold,I also have something to hug at night.Brilliant!I'm gonna have a gd night's sleep tonight!Canadians don't use bolsters so I couldnt really buy one from outside.My room is nice and cosy now..ha.cant wait for my cousin Teresa to come visit me and see my room!=)

Earlier on, I went to watch a ice-hockey match for the first time and it was really a
superb match!Great game!UBC Men's hockey vs Canuck Prospects(dunno who are they) of which we won 3-1!There were loads of fighting,pushing,tripping others,slamming into the sides of the rink etc etc.It seemed as though there were no rules this game at all.Super exciting..every moment you just hold your breath and cringe each time players bang into each other or suffer from painful-looking falls. We're gonna watch an American football game tomorrow too..think it will be just as exciting!Looking forward to it!Here are some pictures..
