My first posting from Vancouver!

Hello everyone who is reading this now!!=)oh no, havent been blogging for awhile and I have tons&tons of things to talk about man!Firstly I'll like to thank those pple who sent me off at the airport on the morning of 22nd of August.My immediate and extended family esp my cousins,ko poh and chek kong, my friends Angel, Lisa, Tim, Alexis, Jonanthan,Greg,Benjy,Karen Lim,Jacq,Regina,Char Kwa,Karen Lee,Mark,Adrian,Eugene and especially Jon Lau and Yik Ley.I really appreciate it alot!=)Love you guys so so much!

I moved into my hostel today so finally I have my internet connection!Goodness..I left Singapore about two weeks ago and I am already homesick!Miss my daddy,mummy,bro,sis,my beloved cousins,my friends angel and the babes,alexis etc etc..sigh sigh..miss the food so much too!Everything in Canada is so expensive..been stinging like crazy over here man...been eating sandwiches,burgers,pizzas,ramen etc..but always searching high and low for the cheapest food available..i miss my mummy's cooking,the fact that I dun have to bother about costs when buying food and other things, the sense of being dependent on other pple,hanging out with the pple i love etc etc..Guess I have to come out of my comfort zone and try to make the best of my time in Vancouver.Ok here's what I did the past two weeks...

Stayed at hostels off campus for the two weeks..stayed at this place called HI Central which was in downtown but was a rather sleazy street that had weird shops like an adult movie shop,shops that have peep shows,gothic clothings etc..I also headed down to the Rockies..That was not bad..I spent 7 days travelling between towns like Banff,Jasper,Revelstoke and Kelowna.The only bad thing was that I had my period and I even had to spend one night in a hostel which was located in the woods.(which means that we had no showers,super bad toilets with no flush,a chance to encounter bears so I had to control my bladder the whole night cos I was afraid of going to toilet by myself. I couldn’t sleep the whole night man…worst night of the trip!

However, the scenery was amazing..saw so many mountains, lakes and waterfalls...go check it out under "my photos"! Most of the time for breakfast,lunch or dinner, our tour guide cum driver Nathan would drop us off at the Grocery Store which meant that I could only eat sandwiches and more sandwiches…Sigh..so much so that “Grocery” became the taboo and much hated word to me.Argh! Also, on the trip, Nathan cooked for us some sweet vegetarian curry with brown organic rice!He is a vegetarian so he could only cook for us something vegetarian which dint taste that gd..Now I know why my family doesn’t eat brown rice..white rice tastes so much better!!!!And we had to pay 5bucks for that!The only consolation was the French vanilla ice-cream as our dessert.

I also made one really gd Japanese friend who sat beside me throughout the whole bus ride. Her name is Yuko and she is super duper nice.ha.after we got back to Vancouver,she cooked for me,anne and charlin Japanese curry with white rice!!She knew that we were sian of eating bread and more bread so she invited us to her place for dinner!Yummy!and it was spicy too!miss spicy food so much man since they dun have chilli sauce in Canada. I should have stalked up on chilli sauce to bring over here.

I shall stop here for now…Going to Vancouver Island with a big group of friends tomorrow.. hope it will be fun!=)There are loads of other things that happened..but I shall post it another day ok?gonna sleep now..gotta wake up early for church tomorrow too…u guys keep in touch with me ya? hugs to all of u!
