I love Victoria!

I just got back from a weekend at Victoria which is in Vancouver Island. It's like the capital of British Columbia and we took 4 hours just to get there-bus, ferry and bus. Was so sleepy throughout the bus and ferry rides man. To save money, we brought our own food for the day which included blueberry scones(tasted really horrible!) for breakfast and tuna sandwiches and doughnuts for lunch which was not too bad.But the place is so beautiful..it is just so Victorian looking, with Victorian architecture and all. We only had two days there so we had to make the most out of it.
First we went to put down our bags at the hostel(HI Victoria) and then headed down to Craigdarroch Castle, some castle that this guy built but never got a chance to live in it I think. It wasnt that majestic-looking as I expected and we dint wanna pay the $10 admission fee to go into the castle so we were just happy to take photos of the exterior of the castle.

Next, we walked over to the a damn happening place--The Bug Zoo!First time going to this kind of place man.ha..it was really cool cos we got the chance to hold the different species of insects. I am not the bravest person in the world so you can imagine me cringing at the sight of these insects but the tour guide was commenting so well that she made it look as if these insects were so cute and lovable. So I was quite excited about getting upclose and personal with these insects!ha..really a wonderful experience as I held the praying mantis, the leaf insect, the longest insect in the world and a few others.
We then headed down to the Royal BC Museum which was highly recommmended by the tourist guidebook. But I'm not exactly a museum person so in slightly less than an hour, I was out already. Not exactly interested in first nations and Tibetan culture but yeah it was ok la..Got to take some photos and stuff so I'm happy. Later we went to the Parliament Building which was just right beside the museum. Great architecture as usual..very different from the Istana that we have in Singapore. What's even more amazing is that the building even lights up at night.Totally puts me in the Christmasy mood! We got this guy to take a group picture for all of us there but guess what, our faces were in the photo but the building was not in it!we were like "what's the point of the photo then eh, looks like it could have be taken anywhere else!"

Of course we wanted something better for dinner. So we walked to somewhere called Fisherman's Wharf and had some really good fish and chips at this place called Barb's Place. The fish was so so fresh and I was really full after that!
Sadly my appetite is really growing..Chee Kian commented on how is it that I am able to finish the fish&chips whereas he couldnt do it..Oh no! I really did gain weight already..I've grown to be even flabbier now..sigh..Think everyone will see a plump me when I get back!
It started raining towards the end of dinner but we didn't want to be losers and get back to our hostel early so we just walked around. Shops here close quite early so in the end, we settled for chilling out at Blenz-this Canadian coffee company which can be found over Canada. They serve the best hot chocolate man..specifically called classic dark hot chocolate.Amazing taste!=) It was my first time drinking it and I was totally influenced by the rest to try it cos they keep recommending it.And boy was I so satisfied!ha...I dun really like dark chocolate but this one is a must try!

Joe brought uno cards so we started playing it.there were like 9 of us and with each game, the loser had to do a really stupid forfeit. We laughed until stomachache and I even had chest pains man..it's all christine's fault! She kept thinking of really stupid dares and she kept repeating what the loser had to say to the target..and she said it in the most irritating way ever that it was funny and yet it makes you wanna slap her kinda thing..dun even know how to explain it..just so crazy!Everyone was stressed at some point in the game esp me I think cos I really dint wanna do the dares..ha..but in the end, we dint even carry out the dares..silly us..laugh for nothing!ha..The company was really great throughout the trip..I really enjoyed myself and I love Victoria!I feel like going back there again and take photos of all the churches..simply beautiful..I wanted to go for mass on Sunday morning but I got the timings wrong so I missed it..sigh..Here's how it looks...
