The day before my birthday...

Warning: This is an extremely long posting...and I think I told the whole story to most of my close friends already.This is just to put down in writing what happened so that twenty years down the road, I can look back and these memories would still be kept with me.

On the 8th of February,I met up with my gorgeous friend Natasha after so many months!=) I went over to SMU to meet her and gosh her school is so so nice! For a moment, when I stepped into campus, I thought I was at the wrong place. It felt like a shopping centre cos there were so many shops and cafes for people to hang out like Watsons, the Sunglasses hut, The Coffee Connection and according to Nat,even a place that sold cosmetics.
She showed me around the library for awhile and then we headed down to Stanford House for dinner. We went to this famous restaurant called "Curry Favor" and shared pork stew in curry with rice and some cheese cum sotong appetizer. We each paid about 10bucks which to me was really worth it cos the food was marvellous!! Think I wanna go there sometime soon to try out their other curry dishes!!=)Highly recommended by me!!ha..Go try it people if you can ok?

Then after that, while Nat went back to SMU library to continue mugging, I went off to meet Felicia and Maggie-my two favourite girlfriends from SAJC band!It was our first time going drinking together and at first we wanted to go to 'The Balcony' at Hereen but it was too crowded so we ended up at Alley Bar. To my amazement,Maggie is really knowledgeable with respect to drinks man..she kept recommending different drinks and told us what each drink tasted like and stuff.
Me and Felicia wanted something sweet since we dun really like the taste of alcohol and we weren't exactly the best drinkers around..especially me!All those who know me well will know why right..haha...We finally decided on our orders after a long while..Felicia ordered China Blue, Mag ordered Brown Cow and I ordered a Singapore Sling!!haha..been wanting to try that since forever so finally got the chance to try it! It was not too bad...but it cost me a freaking 18 bucks!So ex!!haha..Then Mag and I even ordered Hot Chicken Wings for snackers..real yummy but 5 chicken wings cost $12!So it was a really expensive night out man..ha..

Oh yes, some point in time while I was at Alley bar, my little cousin bernie called me and the conversation went roughly like this:
Bernie: "Che Mali, are you at zouk?"
Me:"Nope, why".
Bernie:"Where are you then?"
Me:"Oh, I am with my friends at Alley Bar".
Bernie:" How come you never go Zouk?"
Me:"Cos I couldn't find people to go since most of my frens got school/work tmr."
Bernie:" Oh ok...so you are at Alley Bar ah?"
Me:"Yup! Why le?"

At this point, my cousin Angeline took the phone and talked to me instead.
Angie:"Hello Mali, never go to Zouk ah?"
Basically she was like asking the same things as Bernie so I shan't go into that...ha..then she passed the phone back to Bernie.

Benie:"So you gonna stay at Alley Bar?
Me:"Ya lo...WHY???"
Bernie:"Nothing la...just asking only. You enjoy yourself yeah. Ok...take care...Bye bye."
Of course, there are many errors and distortions in what I just recalled due to limitations of my memory but you roughly get what I mean right? So when I put down the phone, I was somewhat suspicious of my cousins. They were acting weird cos they dun normally call me out of the blue and start asking where I am etc etc...but when I told this to Mag and Feli, they didn't think it was that strange for them to call me so I just left it as that.

Halfway through, guess what happened? I'm sure you'd have guessed too..Both Angie and Bernie appeared in front of me with a slice of Tiramisu cake!haha..as I sort of expected. But nonetheless I was still extremely touched by what they did. I love them so so much!!=)They were on their way to Zouk actually but luckily they called me to double confirm.Good thing they did or else they would have made a wasted trip.Thanks so much cousins!!

We chatted for abit and then I was telling them about what my other cousin Teresa did as well. She asked me to meet her for lunch at the Arts Corner at 1pm which was strange as well cos she normally doesn't ask my out for lunch, usually it's me asking her.So when I asked Angie and Bernie if they knew anything about it, Bernie was like " No, no,of course nothing la. No more surprises cos the only surprise was just that. I have no break at that timing so how can it be a surprise for you when I am not there?"

Both my cousins left after that and it was back to more girlie chats with Mag and Feli. We stayed at Alley Bar till about 11plus then both of them walked me to my bustop. So nice!!Both of them did not have night buses back so they were gonna take a cab.They wished me happy birthday at exactly 12midnight too!Woo Hoo!!=) Overall, it was a good good day for me...Cheers to our friendship babes!!And cheers to family ties too cousins!!
