The Surprise Birthday Party!! All because of him.....=)

I went from being ecstatic...
to tearing in happiness...I look fugly in this photo man!
and finally being able to look cute for the camera after calming down...
Me in the toilet...The toilet was really amusing cos you could open the windows to look into the toilet..so we had to be sure no one was in the toilet first before opening..And Chris kept wanting to peep at Daniel doing his business..Hilarious!Nonetheless, the suite was really really beautiful!
A big thank you to all of you who made the effort to turn up for my party!That night was truly memorable...=)That includes my IJ friends, my SAJC band friends, my Team B friends, my Cousins...think everyone closest to me were present.Since it was a really special occasion for me,I made sure I took individual shots with each of them....I love these guys to bits!
The first group: My family members!!!Too bad Che Feli and Che Ann were away...and Weiling and Weifang couldn't come due to miscommunication...But I appreciate their thoughts anyway...Thanks cousins for always remembering my birthday!All my cousins have never failed to show their love and support for me throughout the years...May we remain strong and united in our Tan and Chong cousins bond ok!!=)

The second group: My IJ friends....7 of them in all!These babes have been with me a big part of my life..known three of them since Primary 3(Charm,Becks and Lisa)..one since Sec 1(Angeline) and two since Sec 3(Weiyun and Lian)...These babes have journeyed with me for so many years..they literally watched me grow up from an secondary school girl to a much more mature adult(I hope!).Our friendship has indeed gone through thick and thin and I am glad we still remain the closest of friends now...Though we don't meet up often, everytime we meet,there is always something to talk about, be it updating each other about our lives or just reminisce about our IJ days...The IJ Spirit really lives on in us...To more years of friendship babes!!!=)
Thanks to Charm and Angel especially for coordinating my party with Marcus...He told me you two really helped him alot to ensure things went on smoothly...Love ya both loads!

The third group: My SAJC band friends!We form a tight-knit Jiemei Dang..Glad we became closer over the years...These guys are really the last people I thought I could click with...2 Cedar girls, 7 SAS boys & 1 IJ girl...The weirdest combination ever..ha..But nonetheless we click great..and they are the only ones I speak Mandarin to occasionally..Thanks to Gaston, Terence and Kenny for their car rides over the years too...To many more years of Sisterhood ok!!!

The fourth group: My favourite Team B! 1 plus year of friendship only and we really ROCK as a group!!All the memories we shared at Vancouver, USA, Langkawi, HongKong and lunches and outings in Singapore and JB will definitely remain with us for a long long time to come...Though I am always the butt of jokes now cos of my recently discovered "bimbotic-ness", I still forgive u all cos I love you guys so so much..haha...the company, the laughter, the wonderful memories shared and everything else...I just feel so comfortable in this group now that not seeing each other (especially the girls!)for just 1 day feels so strange..=) Looking forward to our upcoming Malaysia trip...with Yanxiang and hopefully Sel and Chris as the organizers!!!

The "interrogation" by Team B..they prepared SILLY questions to ask me, like "Who thinks CHEE KIAN has POTENTIAL?", "What word did CHEE KIAN use to describe the Lady Boss in HK?" and they even asked me to list everybody's birthday...which obviously I could not do...Managed to only remember Chris, Dan and Cass's birthdays...Gosh...think sel and ck were irritated I thought their birthdays was a different month!ha...
Finally, after all that eating and taking of photos, it was cake-cutting time!!!But he was all so secretive about my birthday cake...he covered my eyes and led me to the cake...
Turned out it wasn't a normal birthday cake!He got me dozens of cupcakes which all looked super pretty!It was pretty ironic cos a few weeks ago, I saw some food show on TV and the hosts Kim Ng and Chen Liping went to some cake shop which sold really cute personalized cupcakes for all occasions..and I told myself I wanted to order that someday...ha...so when I saw all the cupcakes, I was just at a loss for words!Another dream come true for me!!!
This was an even bigger party than my 21st birthday so I have to make sure I blog about every detail..from...

Next was the present opening session!!!I was really excited to open up the big box!
And what I picked out was a dragonfruit inside the box...and a whole lot of other fruits and my sleeping clothes that night...all thanks to Bernie's bright idea...Ha.
When I finally got to the bottom of the box, I guess I was just overwhelmed when I saw the real present...
I was just so happy with my new Casio Camera...and to know that everyone shared in my present!
Almost speechless!
And I finally even broke down in tears...All because Angel and Charm kept encouraging me to la...ha...But really..I was indeed very very touched!
So at the end of it all, I gave him a really really BIG hug...

Last of all, I really have to end my posting by thanking my dearest boyfriend specially for making all this possible...almost like a dream come true for me...to have everyone spend my 23rd birthday together!As Charm wrote in her blog....He was indeed the man behind it all...
He spent about 3 weeks of preparation just for this day..and all that hard work really paid off because it was the best birthday I ever had! He really did make me a very happy girl that night...=) I LOVE YOU DEAR!!!
I took a photo of the note he left for Chris and Team B...telling them specifically some instructions on what to do..He really made sure every detail concerning the party was taken care of....
He organized everything from the start to the end...He and Chris started out the planning for my birthday on MSN about 3 weeks back...and I was tricked into thinking that when Chris offered to help him plan my birthday, he turned her down.I think these were some of the things he did...
1)He booked one suite and one extra room so that people could stay over...
2)He liaised with Chris to get Team B involved in doing their pages for the scrapbook and to help out with the decorations in the rooms by coming early to do it. He also got them to buy the sushi,snacks and order pizzas for everyone's dinner that night.
3)He liaised with Angeline to get the cake and Charm to get my IJ friends involved.
4)He liaised with Maggie to get my Jiemeis involved.
5)He liaised with my sister and my cousin Teresa to get my cousins involved.
6)From getting the materials for the scrapbook, to buying the camera, to many late nights of sending the scrapbook pages to each of the 4 groups of people, to searching and ordering the most perfect cake for me, to buying the birthday card, to bringing a whole luggage of drinks to the hotel, to getting board games from his friends, to stalling for time in the most natural way knowing that some people have not reached the hotel yet, to spending a few hours at Michelle's place to learn how to do a photoshop collage for my scrapbook....He just did all these things by himself...leading me to have the HAPPIEST birthday ever!I really do appreciate the effort you put in yeah...=)
This was the collage he did up for me...He also framed up another copy for me for our 3rd month anniversary and it's sitting on my table now...
& to all those who have helped out in one way or another to make my party a success ...My heartfelt thanks to you!!!Thanks for making me feel that turning 23 was not that bad after all...=)
